My Review
DYSTOPIA. SCI-FI. You should read this book based on those two genres alone. Haha! But to provide a meatier review…
I love dystopian worlds. I love sci-fi. Well, the more realistic sci-fi. I’m on my last year of my undergraduate studies and I’m studying and training to be a molecular biologist. This is my thing, you guys! Longevity treatment? Yeah men. What’s more is that the protagonist (ish) is a detective (!!) who’s fond of fedoras (!!!), tasked to find Benji’s long-lost biological father. So add in mystery thriller, conspiracies and secret organizations in the mix and gah, I am all googly-eyed with this book.
The book is told in three parts which I think worked well with the narrative and was a great move from Suzanne. Her storytelling was tight although it surely picked up pace after some time as most mysteries do. The world she built was also rich and full of possibilities. She’s a whiz at descriptions and building worlds since dystopic worlds such as this one ABSOLUTELY needs that.
Overall, a fast-paced, action-packed dystopic mystery sci-fi. Yeah, if that doesn’t sound good, I don’t know what does. <3
